Zurgena, a typical Spanish village in Almeria
Zurgena is a small Spanish municipality in the province of AlmerÃa. Zurgena is located in the Almanzora Valley close to the towns of Albox, Huércal-Overa and Los Carasoles and it is a good half hour drive from the tourist resorts such as Mojacar Playa, Vera Playa and Garrucha and about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Almeria city .

Being also very close to the A7/E15 motorway, this provides easy and safe access to Murcia, Almeria and Alicante airports.

Zurgena has a town hall, a post office, supermarket, several bars, a butcher's shop and a hardware store. There is a school for children up to 12 years old and the secondary school is in Alfoquia, just 1 km from Zurgena. Zurgena also has a medical center and a pharmacy where English is also spoken.

The climate in Zurgena
Zurgena has a temperate climate all year round, as does the whole of the Costa Almeria. The temperature here rarely drops below 18C during the day. During the winter months the nights and mornings are a little chillier but during the day there are generally blue skies and pleasant temperatures most of the time during the day so a jacket is not necessary. During the summer months, daytime temperatures can rise above 30° from May to August. From September the temperatures are somewhat milder and fluctuate around 20° to 25° during the day.
